The First book in the Coffee Shop Series!
This coffee shop is going to kill me.
Sure, it's my dad's dream. If he hadn't died eight months ago, I wouldn't be here, a college drop out, trying not to drown in debt.
Nor would I be staring into the muddy eyes of a viking-sized man that's telling me everything I'm doing wrong—as if he knows so much about business in a small mountain town.
Except he does.
And when the biggest, most unexpected surprise of all falls in my lap, I'll have no choice but to ask for his help.
Time for some power lipstick.
This girl is drowning.
She might have eyes like glacier pools and hair so black it's glossy, but that doesn't mean she knows how to run a coffee shop. She's drowning in more than debt, interest, and credit card payments.
She'll never make it.
But I kind of want her to.
Because underneath that bright lipstick and those sun dresses is a woman that I have an uncomfortable feeling is about to rock. my. world.
This is a clean, contemporary romance with sizzle and spice—but no sex scenes. Guaranteed bantering and happily ever after.
Here's what others are saying!
I’ve read most of the Dragon /Fantasy books during COVID lockdown absolutely couldn’t get enough!
Usually it takes me awhile to finish a book, but the writing is vivid and easy to follow.
Just recently I discovered the romance books.
They are every bit as delightful. I am trying to read them in the series. What a talented and prolific writer you are..
This book is like hallmark movie. I absolutely loved it. I recommend it to anyone who fights for the underdog. This author’s stories and the way she writes makes you feel like you want to live in her story.
Bethany is struggling with the coffeshop she inherated from her father when he died. She is alone and financially almost broken. But the Maverick shows up with a plan to help her get to her feet again. Can she fight for what'snis worth without breaiing her heart again? Awesome story
This is a romance that also has a lot of depth with some very serious issues in the subplots. I'm excited for the rest of the series!
Those who know me know I'm just NOT a chick lit girl! I often find the stories insipid and gag worthy. However...I want to move to Pineville!!! I want to enjoy a big cup of coffee at the Frolicking Moose!!! I'm so happy Katie has written this book. These characters are wonderful. Bethany is so relatable- hates coffee but wants to honor her father and make the coffee shop successful. But she just doesn't know how. Maverick walks in to her shop with the framework. He doesn't want to rescue her. He wants her to be responsible and become successful with hard work. Will Bethany put in the hard work or will she give up? Oh, and her two younger sisters show up on her doorstep with their own issues.Katie has a real talent with sucking us in and allowing us to join the story. You care for the characters and root for them. Her female characters figure out how to overcome their obstacles and come out stronger in the end. Girl power, indeed!
